A BIT OF HISTORY
Its Napoleon III architecture resembles that of the beautiful villas of the French Riviera, of the banks of Italy’s greatest lakes, and of the Spanish Riviera. In all likelihood, its original decoration was designed by Christopher Dresser, a very much in vogue decorator of Queen Victoria’s court. He is said to have contributed towards the decoration of the library, which was transformed into a dining room a few decades later. One of its original tapestries is still preserved in this area today, with its Japanese and Inca inspiration.
